The Best General Use Tripod Legs
The 190XProB is a bit steep on price but you are getting a really nice, professional set of legs that will last a long time. They have a sturdy aluminum build so they are not the lightest ones out there, but they do have nice stability. Over 11 lbs is listed as the maximum capacity, which is plenty for SLRs with all but the most heavy of lenses.
The 190XProB also has so some really nice features like a quick sliding center column that has the ability to flip between vertical and horizontal positions. With a horizontal setup it is really nice for those macro shots, allowing you to get right up next to flowers. The 3 legs are able to move independently of one another, which is great for uneven surfaces. They are also able to lock in at a variety of angles for increased stability and low shots.
The maximum height is a little shy of 60 inches, so if you are looking to get a bit more height you may want to go with the Manfrotto 055XProB, which has a height of around 70 inches and a bit more weight capacity. The two tripods are nearly the same in every other way except you pay a bit more for the 055XProB, which is why the 190XProB is the best general use set of tripod legs.
